Westin Poinsett Hotel

Poinsett Hotel panoramaThe Westin Poinsett Hotel, Downtown Greenville, South Carolina

Built originally as the Mansion House Hotel (and stood that was for one hundred years), the hotel was torn down in 1924 to make room for construction of the Poinsett Hotel. Through many ups and downs over the decades, including being abandoned for almost eleven years from 1986-1997, the hotel survived and was purchased in November of 1997 by developers who did extensive renovations and transformed it into today's Westin Poinsett Hotel.
