Greer, South Carolina

The town of Greer, SC is located just east of Greenville and is shared by both Greenville and Spartanburg counties.  Greer is probably best known for being home to the BMW automotive plant, which sits adjacent to I85 between the two counties, and represents employment for thousands of workers from the upstate and around the world.  Michelin corporate headquarters are also located in Greer, just off of Pelham Road and I85. The downtown area of Greer, not unlike downtown Greenville, has been experiencing some major revitalization projects and offers many nice venues to do business during the day and have fine dining at night.  Greer residents have addresses that run from the east side of Greenville to the west side of Spartanburg, including miles to the north up to the Blue Ridge community and south down to the Simpsonville and Duncan communities.  There is housing in all price ranges to choose from and plenty of shopping areas as well.  Though the downtown area and much of the landmarks are located in Greenville County, Greer residents typically would tell you they live in Greer when asked.
